Local Shops and services The property whilst being in a tranquil location is well placed for easy access to local amenities as well as beiung within 30 minutes of the nearest towns and cities.
Noyant - 7KM
Noyant is the market nearest town to Le Bois and is a short car journey away. Parking in the town is free and all the facilities you require are located here.
The town has an Intermarche located at 80 Boulevard Paul Derre and stocks just about everything you might require during your holiday. Located in the town centre there is a lovely Pattiserie/Boulangerie, a Boucherie, a number of banks, a cafe bar, florist and newsagents.
The town has its street market every Friday which has a range of fresh fruit and vegatables, arts and crafts and is usually over by 12pm - so make sure you arrive before 11am. This is a relatively small market and I would advise that you head to Saumur of Bourgeil for the larger regional markets.
There is a small tourism office here which you can access by clicking here.
Saumur - 40KM
T his is town is our favourite place to visit to while away a an afternoon people watching whilst drinking a delicious cafe au lait at a pavement cafe or to spend a relaxed evening in one of the vibrant restaurants that line the tree line streets of Saumur.
On the outskirts of town there are a number of small retail estates and a large E Leclerc Hypermarket were you can stock up for the remainder of the week with food, wine and an array of household items.
Parking is available in in the large parade ground near to the famous Cadre Noir Cavalry barracks or along the river front in the designated areas. From either area the walk to the town centre is less than five minutes and in the central street you will find the town hall and the Tourist Information. The assistants within the Tourist Information centre talk good english and provide details of virtually every activity available in the Loire district. Click here to visit Saumur Tourism Centre.
Saumur has a substantial market held every Saturday and Wednesday which takes over a number of the streets in the town centre. Here you can find a mixture of local produce togther with the tourist crafts and jewellery.
There is a considerable amount of tourism in this area with the Chateau gardens (main chateau currently undergoing internal renovation), troglodyte dwellings, a mushroom cave, various vineyards and distilleries and a tranquil horse and cart ride through the old town of Saumur with the driver providing an english translation of the tour.
