Days Out – Towns, Cities & Markets
There are many lovely towns and cities which we would recommend visiting, all within around a 30 minute to 1-hour drive, which have been listed in this document along with a short description of each place.
There is also a list of the local markets by the day and location, where you can buy fresh meat, fish, fruit and vegetables, as well as clothes, shoes and souvenirs.
Days Out – Chateaux, Museums & Gardens
There are more than 300 Chateaux in the Loire Valley, so we have listed a selection of our favourite’s to hopefully make your choice a little easier! Many of the Chateaux have beautiful gardens to visit too.
There are also several great museums suitable for all ages which are listed in the document, along with a short description of each.
Family Friendly Days Out
The Loire Valley is a great place for all ages to enjoy a holiday!
For the more adventurous and energetic, there are many activities to do such as watersports, high ropes and kayaking, and for a fun filled family day out there is a choice of three different zoo’s. Please see the information sheet for more information.
Although there is already a section on this website about Golfing in the region, this download picks out a few of the highly recommended courses within an hours drive of Le Bois, and includes a short description of each course.
Although there is already a section on this website about Eating Out, we have taken the eight recommended restaurants and provided a description of each one. We have eaten at all of these restaurants and would highly recommend them all.
In France, they do not do takeaways in the usual sense. Instead, they have catering vans which park up in various villages on certain nights of the week – days and locations are listed in the document.
Bringing your dog to Le Bois
This document lists some lovely walks in the area and dog-friendly chateaux.
There is also detailed information about bringing your dog in and out of the EU – please check with your local vet and the government website for more information though as the regulations could change.
